Wai.Kai week concludes with a benefit event at Maui Ocean Center! Explore the Aquarium at night with festivities that include food, drinks, live performances by Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award winners, and more. Net proceeds will benefit two Maui non-profit organizations: Maui Ocean Center Marine Institute and Maui Nui Botanical Gardens.
Live Music by Nā Hoa & Nā Wai ‘Ehā
The talented trio of Nā Hoa include Ikaika Blackburn, Keoni Souza, and Halehaku Seabury recently won the “Group of the Year” and “Hawaiian Music Album” at the 42nd annual Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards.
The name “Nā Wai ʻEhā” translates to the “The Four Waters” of Waikapū, Wailuku, Waiehu, and Waihe’e, an area where the band members grew up on the island of Maui. Through their music, Nā Wai ʻEhā shares the beauty of this area while perpetuating their love for Hawaiian language, culture, family, and Aloha ʻĀina. They recently won the “Most Promising Artist” category in the 42nd Annual Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards.
Kāne and Kanaloa Panel
Join us for an insightful cultural discussion on the realms of Kāne and Kanaloa lead by esteemed guest speakers Hōkūlani Holt, Billy Kinney, and Roxanne Keliʻikipikāneokolohaka.
Experience the Aquarium after dark! The park will be open with showings of Humpbacks of Hawai’i in the 3D Sphere, as well as coral explore stations, arts & crafts, dive presentations, and more.
Food & Drink
Wai.Kai Benefit tickets one entrée and dessert, and four 8oz pours of Koholā Brewery draft beer. Tickets are $44.95 for adults and $19.95 for children ages 6-12 (non-alcoholic beverages available, and free for children ages 5 and under (food not included). Ticket prices are not tax inclusive. Additional food and drink options will be available for purchase at the Reef Café.
