Position Summary

The Sphere Theater Manager oversees the daily operations of Sphere theater activities, ensuring exceptional guest experiences during all day and evening events. This position supervises theater attendants, manages theater flow, ensures technical and operational readiness, maintains safety and service standards, and coordinates event logistics. The Manager is responsible for staff leadership, scheduling, training, and overall quality control of the theater and exhibit environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all theater operations, including guest admission, capacity management, show timing, and venue readiness.
  • Supervise Theater Attendants; provide coaching, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure guests receive a welcoming, efficient, and memorable experience throughout their visit.
  • Monitor and manage traffic flow through the theater and exhibit areas, guaranteeing safety and smooth transitions.
  • Oversee the distribution, collection, and automated cleaning processes of 3D glasses.
  • Ensure proper operation of digital tools, including iPad show controls, theater systems, and presentation equipment.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, security, F&B, and other departments to ensure facility cleanliness, safety, and readiness.
  • Respond to guest issues, concerns, and escalations with professionalism and effective resolutions.
  • Maintain accurate attendance counts, event records, shift reports, and operational documentation.
  • Support special events, private bookings, and high-volume days with strategic planning and staff allocation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience in hospitality, attractions, entertainment, or guest services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead teams and engage with guests.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay organized, detail-oriented, and responsive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to constant changes in staffing and operations.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lead and supervise staff on foot for extended periods.
  • Work performed in a public attraction environment with variable noise levels and lighting.
