Position Summary

Our Front Gate Cashiers/Lead Cashiers are an essential part of our overall operations for the park. They are the first contact with our guests, so customer service and ensuring our guests feel welcomed from the start is very important.  The Front Gate Cashiers/Lead Cashiers assist with processing admission into the park.  The Front Gate can, at times, be a very busy fast-paced environment so the ability to operate in that type of environment is key for our Front Gate Cashiers/Lead Cashiers.

Volunteer Opportunities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Greet and assist visitors with purchasing admission, tours and memberships to the aquarium.
  • Answer guest inquiries in person, over the phone and via email.
  • Assist customers and potential customers with any questions about the aquarium.
  • Motivate Front Gate Cashiers to upsell tours and annual memberships.
  • Opening and closing procedures and must be a reliable key holder.
  • Step in and resolve any guest issues or complaints.
  • Provide any cash exchange for other departments. May be required to count safe at the end of your shift.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have basic computer skills and excellent customer service skills.
  • Must provide adequate availability for work opportunities including day shifts, on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays and overnight functions.
  • Must be comfortable with the use of electronic devices in the workplace including but not limited to computers, radios, DVD players, CD players, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Sitting for several hours at a time.
  • Communicating with guests and colleagues throughout your shift
  • Hours may include day and evening hours.
