Position Summary

Maui Ocean Center is dedicated to inspiring ocean conservation and providing exceptional guest experiences. Our beautifully landscaped grounds are an essential part of the visitor journey, showcasing native plants, coastal themes, and well-maintained outdoor spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain aquarium grounds, including lawns, pathways, planters, and outdoor exhibits
  • Mow, trim, edge, weed, mulch, and prune landscaped areas
  • Plant and care for native and ornamental plants in line with aquarium themes
  • Remove litter and debris to ensure a clean, inviting appearance
  • Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment safely
  • Assist with irrigation, minor repairs, and seasonal planting projects
  • Support special event setups as needed
  • Follow all safety protocols and environmental guidelines

Qualifications

  • Previous landscaping or groundskeeping experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physically able to lift 50+ pounds and perform manual labor for extended periods
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment
  • Experience with landscaping tools and machinery is a plus
  • Appreciation for the aquarium’s mission of conservation and guest experience
  • Pre-employment background check and drug testing required.
