We’re delighted to welcome students and teachers to our world-class, award-winning Aquarium of Hawai`i; where our expert team fosters understanding, wonder, and respect for Hawai`i’s marine life. Maui Ocean Center offers unparalleled learning opportunities for students of all ages. Our interactive exhibits spark kids’ curiosity and foster connections with the charismatic marine animals that inhabit the surrounding waters.
Rich educational opportunities abound at Maui Ocean Center for all students, kindergarten through 12th grade. Experiential learning is imperative to understanding, offering the opportunity for students to encounter, explore and engage with relevant in-class content, in what might be the closest to an authentic setting.
By providing year round access to schools, we connect students to real-world experiences; encouraging curiosity and critical thinking skills. Our multisensory learning experiences bring one dimensional lessons to life, creating enthusiasm for our oceans and its inhabitants.
Hawai´i student general admission rates are $5.00 per student inclusive. Entry for teachers and chaperones are complimentary based on the required ratio of 1 per 8 students. Additional chaperones are $10 each inclusive. This rate includes the award-winning Humpbacks of Hawai`i Sphere Experience and a digital group photograph courtesy of Maui Ocean Center and Magic Memories photography. Exclusive Marine Naturalist Guided Tours are optional, and students may bring their own snacks or lunches to Nalu Lawn. Maui Ocean Center supports island sustainability and encourages eco-friendly water bottles and reusable snack/lunch containers to reduce waste.
We encourage schools to make reservations quickly as we only permit one school per day, and available dates fill up fast. Complimentary General Admission visit is offered to Teachers and Faculty that would like to strategize their curriculum, lesson plans and agenda in advance of their scheduled Field Trip. Contact our School Field Trip Coordinator 7 days prior to your preferred date to check availability. Complimentary reservation times are scheduled every half hour between 1pm and 3:30pm daily.

State of Hawai`i public or private school reservations are available Monday through Friday (except holidays) at a reservation time of 8:30am or 9:00am. Out-of-state schools may schedule reservation time between 1:00 and 3:00pm.
Encounters, explorations and engagements abound; including living reef, touch pool, nursery, open ocean marine life and cultural exhibits featuring Hawaiians and the Sea and Kaho`olawe: A Story of History and Healing.
Marine Naturalist presentations are provided via QR codes throughout the park and via your Field Trip Reservation Confirmation. This way you have opportunity to view them in advance and connect it to your park experience. Our Naturalists are also available in-park, so feel free to ask questions at any time.
