Maui Ocean Center is not just an exceptional aquarium but a passionate advocate for the community. As part of our commitment to safeguarding the environment and protecting the health and safety of residents, employees, and visitors, we actively participate in various community efforts. From supporting stormwater management initiatives through Stormwater Maui, to promoting environmentally mindful practices beyond our facility’s walls with our Honu Beach Cleanup Program, we can all mālama (care for) our moana (ocean), keeping it pristine for generations to come. Recognizing that protecting our water is a collective responsibility, Maui Ocean Center spearheads initiatives like the Honu Hero Beach Cleanup Program, where both residents and visitors can enjoy quality time with loved ones while taking a hands-on approach to safeguarding our precious marine environments. Additionally, through events like the Annual Maui 5K run/walk we are given an opportunity not just to challenge ourselves physically but also spread awareness about crucial causes such as supporting Maui nui schools. These family-friendly events serve as wonderful opportunities for everyone to reconnect with their community amidst nature’s beauty on this enchanting island paradise!
