We visited last week for the first time, and I was really excited because so many people said this was a “must-do” experience in Maui. Unfortunately, it ended up feeling very underwhelming—especially for the price. The space felt smaller than expected, and there weren’t many interactive options for younger kids. I’m from Ohio, and honestly, I found the Columbus Zoo’s aquarium and stingray feeding exhibit to be more engaging, which surprised me. There is a small playground, but that’s something you can find for free outside of an aquarium, so it didn’t add much to the experience. While the fish were beautiful and my kids did enjoy seeing the turtles, sharks, and some unique species up close, overall it just felt a bit “meh.” The layout felt more like a food court and shopping area with some fish displays on the side—similar to what other reviews have mentioned. Personally, I wouldn’t spend $200 again (even with two of my kids getting in free), and the $20 parking fee. Maui is so amazing if I had a short time to visit I wouldn’t prioritize this experience.

Great spot for kids! Maui Ocean Center has awesome shark tunnels, turtles, and reef exhibits that kept our children fascinated. Plenty of parking (pay via phone). Unfortunately the 3D Sphere movie was unavailable due to projector repair. Can get a bit crowded. Still worth a visit for families!
